Not quite one thing. And that's the point.
Studio Maggie is the independent creative studio of Machteld van der Werff, an interior designer with a background in fashion, marketing and creative production. As the co-founder of interior brand Casa Gitane, I've spent years designing spaces, developing products and bringing creative ideas to life.
Interior design is at the heart of what I do. From boutique hotels and residential interiors to retail spaces and offices. Alongside interiors, my work extends to exhibition stands, furniture sourcing and product development, bespoke curtains, sourcing and creative production.
Some projects start with a blank page, others with a very specific idea. I enjoy both. Big plans, small details and everything in between.
My approach combines a creative eye with hands-on project management. I love developing ideas, but equally enjoy figuring out how to make them happen. From concept and design to sourcing, production and the final finishing touches.
I work independently, collaborating with a network of specialists when needed, and can step in at any stage of a project. Whether it's designing a complete space, finding that one perfect piece or managing a project from A to Z.

My work includes projects for Anna + Nina, retail production in London, bespoke curtains and custom-made interiors. Alongside this, I co-founded Casa Gitane, developing its interior collections, studio, webshop and creative projects.
I work with brands, businesses and private clients, combining interior design with sourcing, product development and hands-on project management. From the first mood board to the finishing touches, turning ideas into reality and making things happen.
